On December 12, 2024, the Board of Trustees of John Hancock Hedged Equity & Income Fund (the “Fund”) approved changes to the Fund’s name and investment strategies. The changes are proposed to be effective on or about February 10, 2025 (the “Effective Date”). The Fund will change its name from “John Hancock Hedged Equity & Income Fund” to “John Hancock Diversified Income Fund.”
